I just finished reading this book so I suggest having some tissue handy while reading it because while it's a great book there are some teary moments. So it seems to be a pattern or maybe it's just me. I loved this book and this one is about V since each book tends to be focused on one character more so than the others.
This is the latest in this series which just gets better and better with each book so I'm really looking forward to the next one. I highly recommend this book if you happen to be a vampire fan and if you're smart you should go back and read the first book. If you look back through my entries you'll notice that I read it from book one all the way up to this one which is five I believe. Sorry math is not my forte
There seems to be a theme about the brothers that they all seem to have shitty childhoods but on the bright side they all seem to be finding their mates. It is really cool that they have this connection with the one they're meant to be with which is cemented by a smell which sounds weird but in a really good way since it isn't a bad smell or somthing. So run off and put it on hold at the library right now for Pete's sake and get to reading.
This morning I finished the last fifteen pages of this book and once again I loved it. If you haven't read the other books in this series do it and then read this book. Like the others the book focuses on one character and this time is Butch's turn.
I wondered why a human who found out the vampires are real would be taken in and become one of the brothers own and that gets revealed in this book. I'm not telling so you'll have to read it for yourself. He has some major challenges so read to see if Marissa and Butch get their happy ending or not.
Butch goes through some changes when he gets captured by a lesser who are the bad guys if you don't know that already. They were once human and are now soulless beings that hunt down vampires. The brothers are like the protectors for the civilian vampires so of course the brothers especially V go searching for their friend.
I really like the way these books are laid out because you get to find out about a character and their background gradually and of course it's great that this happens to be a series because there are times when the one book just isn't enough. This world needs the series of books so I couldn't imagine this world being one book and hopefully there are many more to come. I've already started the next book in the series.
I just loved this book but I did a lot of crying while reading it because it was just so very sad. Now I'm not telling why I was crying which means you have to read it for yourself. This book focused on Z and there were flashbacks that revealed his past which was just heartbreaking. You really get to know this vampire during the course of this book. This series just keeps getting better and better. I actually finished this yesterday but I've been up to my eyeballs with writing so I never got around to writing about it. I highly recommend this series because I would have to say that it is one of the best vampire series out there. It just left me hungry for more and personally I think it would make a pretty awesome show but maybe that's just me. So make sure you have tissue while reading this book because there are just lots of parts that made me cry. Of course if you haven't read the others in the series I would suggest you start with the first and go from there because it just flows better that way but you don't have to if you are adamant about reading this one first. It's not like the book police are going to come and arrest you for reading books in a series out of order or something.
This morning I finished reading the second book in this series and let me warn you that if you do read it and I give the big thumbs up on that you should have some tissue handy especially when you get towards the end of the book. I'm not saying what kind of ending this book has but it will cause some misty eyes. This book was focused on Rhage who is a vampire and one of the Black Dagger Brotherhood which is a group of warrior vampires that are protecting the vampires from the Lessers who are soulless former humans who are out to make the vampire race extinct. Go ahead and boo and hiss because this time the Slayers are the bad guys and as a fan of Buffy and Angel it tends to be the opposite.
A few new characters are introduced and I got to learn more about Rhage. It sucks being cursed and I have to say that I was stunned to find out the reason he's cursed. It just doesn't make sense to me. It's not like he ate the favorite Gypsy daughter of the tribe and was given a curse as a result of that since it was something more along the lines of well think Hedwig and that gives you a little clue but not the whole thing. If you want to know more you'll just have to read the book. I even had some suspicions about Z confirmed. I was thinking people just saw him one way and that he wasn't really like that. The things that happened to him are just horrible and make me cry. So ok there was some crying during the reading of this book so if you don't like crying and I'm not saying that I'm some cry slut that enjoys it you would be wrong but if tears aren't your thing maybe you shouldn't read this book but you really should because it is great.
So I finished reading Dark Lover by JR Ward and I have to say that I am enjoying this series. Ok this would be the first book but I think that since I enjoyed the first book that I'm bound to enjoy the others. What can I say I just love the vampires and I've been discovering some really great vampire series over the past few years aside from Anne Rice but she seems to be done with the fang gang.
I think it would be kind of cool to find out that I'm half vampire like Elizabeth did after all she ends up with a great guy and becomes Queen and who wouldn't want that although there is no tiara but there is a fancy ring thrown in. The next book in the series is put on hold for a bit since next I'm reading a Rachel Caine book but hopefully it won't be too long before I get a chance to read the next book in this series.
I personally like to read books in a series in the order they were intended although you don't always have to do that but sometimes since I mainly get books from the library I have to be willing to read other books out of order when I need to which I don't really like but I can't control when the books I put on hold arrive although that would be pretty handy. I'll admit that I got a little misty eyed during this book so maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to have some tissue handy just in case.
