Well I managed to finish this book even though I didn't read as much yesterday. So continues the adventures of Colene and her companions along with a new one named Burgess. They are on their way back to Darius's world when Colene gets attacked by the mind predator that had attacked Provos before.
So they end up making the rounds of each of their worlds and Colene ends up home which gives her the chance to make up with her folks. They are forced to leave someone behind which is a misty eyed moment and end up somewhere that I'm not telling you so you'll just have to read it to find out what's going on in this crazy world.
My computer is driving me nuts since it is acting weird not liking some blogs and fine with others so I'll have to be quick since I wouldn't be surprised to find this entry gone to wherever entries go that don't get posted because the computer's in a mood. So the quest to find out how many books I read in a year continues.
I took this how much does your life suck or not suck or something like that and they had a question about how many books you read in a year and if I think about it I would have to say at least once a week but the highest number was 20. I guess I'll have to wait until this blog is a year old before I find out the grand total and I'm sure I'm the only one curious about that.
I doubt very much that I'd ever get around to doing a list of books I want to read in a month because I think it would be tricky since I get my books from the library and they can't always be relied on to get you the books you want when you want them since you could have a waiting list or maybe the local library doesn't have the book so you have to go through Prospector which means waiting so I would be surprised if I ever started making a list like others do. I'll just go with whatever book's available to me at the time.
Oops I almost forgot to do a post for this book today but here I am and I'm on to my next book and over a hundred pages in. So continues the adventures of Colene and her friends on the virtual mode. Since this is a series I would of course suggest that you read the first book first since this is a series where it picks up where it left off in the first book.
I want a Sequiro who for those of you who are totally clueless would be the horse. They end up in a new reality which means new people join up with Colene, Darius, and Sequiro. I'll admit that this is an odd book but in a good way. Nona is a new addition to the book that joins them along with a couple other characters.
It would be pretty interesting to find new worlds to explore like in the book and yes maybe a misty moment was had but that's because I'm a total dork. What girl wouldn't want her very own telepathic horse depressed or not? That could be the objection the person that warned me away from the series could be since she's depressed and suicidal. You'll have to read it for yourself to see who survives to make it to the next book which I'm already reading. The fingers are crossed that I'll have it done by Saturday.
I've ecountered weirdness when I've listed this book for what I'm currently reading when I post at Xanga since another book turns up that I don't think exists unless this is a third book. I keep seeing a book called Innocence Lost which I guess could be the name of the next book. This stupid computer is driving me nuts so I'm trying to write this post somewhere else because it feels like something is sticky or something and besides I don't like the spell check over here because it doesn't change the word only points out this or that word could be spelled wrong and there are plenty of times when the word isn't spelled wrong.
Well I would think it's pretty obvious that I enjoyed because I started it on Sunday and finished it last night and this wouldn't be one of those short books since it has 712 pages which some would consider pretty long but for me not really since it isn't unusual for me to read books like this or even longer. So Asher finally finds out about his destiny and I'll admit that the tissue was needed since there were some sad parts but this is a great book so if you haven't read her yet run out and get the first book if you enjoy a good fantasy series because this would fit the bill. I'm off to read a shorter book next since I'm back to Piers Anthony.
So this is the third book in the series which means you really should go back to the first book before reading this one unless you like reading things out of order. Rhiannon and Shannon were both pregenant at the same time and end up giving birth. Sure it was tricky for Rhiannon since she was trapped in the tree but the dark God released her and wanted her to swear herself and her daughter to him.
Two daughters born and one mother dies but not before forgiveness and reunitiing with her Goddess. Shannon's parents take Morrigan and raise her as their own while Shannon has Mryna in Partholon.
Once again you really must have tissues for this book since there are some misty eyed moments. They fast forward the girls growing up and continue on with Morrigan getting sent to Portholon which includes a darkness that has been following her. You'll just have to read the book to find out who died and who survived but this is a really great book hence me finishing it last night before heading off to dreamland. I'm making my way through books written by her and I'm not sure if there's another one or not but I am enjoying this author a lot so I'm sure I'll enjoy her other books too.
I read this book quite a while ago and after someone mentioned it I thought I'd pick it up again and of course to find out if there were any new books in the series I missed and nope I think I've read all four. I did manage to get three of them so I'll look for the fourth so I can read that too.
Colene is a depressed girl who cuts herself. One day she meets Darius who claims to be from another world who is looking for a wife. They fall in love but she thinks he's crazy but when he disappears she realizes that she should have gone with him.
So Darius makes it possible for Colene to leave her reality which is where she meets Sequiro a horse who she can talk to telepathically. She becomes a prisoner and when Darius arrives the leader of the place threatens him and convinces him to lead him to his reality where he can pick up a chip which will allow him to conquer the other realities.
I'm not sure what the objection was about this book unless the whole girl cutting herself and being fourteen and going off after a strange man is the reason for the warning to avoid the book. I have to admit that this warning is the reason I picked up the book again. Since this is a series I suggest you start with this book and read the following books if you enjoy it. I happen to love Piers Anthony so that's why I read it again.
I just finished reading this book this morning and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. It's a good sign when I talk back to the book not in public of course if it can be helped. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series but sadly it was taken away from someone else that had it on hold so I'll have to wait.
Ironically the book I'm now reading is a result of someone saying to not read it so of course I had to pick it up. I did read it quite a while ago so I'm curious about the warning to not read. I should check to see if there are more than three in this series because that is all I've read of it but I should go on to the book I'm supposed to be talking about.
Asher makes himself a promise to head off to the city for a year to make enough money to take care of his father. He ends up in the employ of the prince and his life completely changes. There's some vague prophecy about him after all they always tend to be that way.
Be warned this is a book for those of you who really enjoy reading since it is 642 pages long which might scare some people off. The strange thing is that yesterday I was feeling icky so I ended up doing a lot of reading yesterday which is why I finished it sooner than I thought I would. Another cool thing is this little thing in the back that has an interview with the author. So I give this book a big thumbs up on booky goodness.
This would be an author I discovered through a anthology which can be a great way to find authors. Since I enjoyed her writing and there were two different books so it wasn't like a fluke or something I decided to look into books by her and I'm talking actual books not a part of a book and voila this would be the first one I've read by her and it certainly won't be the last.
I had another book called Marked that I was about to read but once again someone put it on hold at the library so I wasn't able to read it so this would be my maiden voyage into PC Cast's books. I did put that book on hold again so I'll get around to reading it after all what kind of book slut would I be if I didn't?
I wouldn't mind going to a world where everyone has a double much like on Hercules where everyone had a double who was the same yet different. Shannon is just a teacher who ends up in another world where everyone thinks she's Rhiannon who is a total bitch but is her twin in every other way. She cast a spell so they'd switch places and she ends up married to a centaur so this book isn't the least bit boring.
This is a great fantasy book that I highly suggest you read. Sure it might sound a little odd to have a human and centaur get together but all will be revealed in the story. I always wondered when watching Hercules or Xena how Ephiny got pregnant well for the obvious reasons but in this world there are female centaurs so if you want a great book that will make you laugh and maybe cry a little but that could just be me I recommend this book because I simply loved it. I have a feeling that PC is going on my favorite authors list.
This is the six book in the series but there's a wait for the next book which I eagerly wait for. If you haven't read this series you really should go back to the first book because it continues from one book to the next so it's best to read the five books before this one instead of just picking this one up and reading it. Sure you won't be arrested since I haven't been by the Yoga police for wearing yoga pants without actually doing yoga.
Jo has amnesia so she can't remember anything which doesn't sound all that bad. I wouldn't mind having a clean slate but I guess its' different when you're on the outside looking in because actually having it is totally different and of course it doesn't help that there's a demon lurking around that looks exactly like Jo. Having an Evil Twin or ET certainly isn't fun especially when the demon has everyone convinced that she's the real Jo and that the real Jo is the demon so things are still pretty intense for Jo and she has no memories.
It would be kind of scary to find yourself naked and alone in the woods with no memory and found by people with these special powers but Jo being Jo manages to muddle through so go ahead and get into this series because it's a good one. This is the ninth book that I've read by Rachel Caine and this is one of those authors where all the books are appealing. Sure there are some authors where you might only like a series by them and not really like any of their other stuff but this isn't the case here since I also love the vampire series where you should check out too. There's going to be time to read if the strike goes on for a long time which I hope it doesn't because I want to see Joss's new show and have Moonlight get a full season because that's an awesome show.
Yes I'm still reading this series even though I've read other books in between. That's just something that can happen when you have to rely on the library for books. This is a sad one so have the tissue handy because you're probably going to cry or maybe it's just me that did the crying. I got pretty teary last night when I was finally finishing it up. I haven't been reading as much over the past few days which is why I didn't finish it sooner but I finally did last night. I'm a bit surprised about the ending because I certainly didn't see that coming and no I'm not telling you what I'm talking about so you'll just have to read the book for yourself.
The world is seriously screwed because Mother Nature is waking up and she's pissed off so once again Jo has to do her thing and she even gets a new car that she ends up naming Juliet. She has her hands full trying to save her sister from the psycho boyfriend and war against the Djinn who are under Mother Nature's control which includes David. It is also weird because she has her daughter Imara which has to be weird to have a full grown daughter that's only a few days old only with all the craziness going on around here. So if you enjoy really great fantasy books this is sure to appeal.
